Located between U.S. 231 South and Hardwick Road in Pell City, a new development known as South Park Shopping Center is springing up on 13 acres, anchored by a 45,600 square-foot Publix Super Markets. Dick Schmalz, development coordinator for Retail Specialists, Inc., assisted with design, financing, leasing and outparcel sales for the center. Once it's completed, Retail Specialists will manage the property. Schmalz said the development will contribute to the area's sales tax base for Pell City and St. Clair County. "Pell City already has grocery stores, but we think Publix is going to bring people to Pell City from a wider area to shop," he said.

Robert R. Jolly, Jr. of Retail Specialists, Inc. was named one of Birmingham's Most Infuential in Commercial Real Estate by the Birmingham Business Journal. Jolly co-founded the company in 2005 and oversees the operations of the business. He recieved the CCIM designation in 2008. Retail Specialists is the fourth largest local broker and the 14th largest local commercial property management firm.
