What do you do in the real estate industry? I’m a retail and office property manager at Retail Specialists.
Why did you choose to go into your profession? Growing up around real estate I have always been interested in the economics behind it, the architecture and how it is able to have such a significant impact on the city as a whole.

What is the biggest opportunity in your industry? One of the biggest opportunities in the retail industry post-Covid is the increased amount of flexibility for the landlord and tenant to get creative.
What do you think makes Birmingham special? Birmingham is in a unique position in which it has an extremely eclectic food and entertainment scene coupled with an affordable cost of living.
What is your career highlight so far? My career highlight so far is just recently our team sourced a unique deal post-Covid and was able to overcome a significant leasing challenge, upgrade the property for all tenants and ultimately drive returns for our investors.
What can employers do to attract more young professionals? A collaborative office environment, flexibility, attractive benefits and transparency with leadership on a path to advance their career.
What is one change you hope to see in Birmingham? Pre-Covid there was a tremendous amount of activity in downtown Birmingham. However many of these businesses faced hardship during the lockdowns. As we return to normal I am hopeful that the revitalization activity continues.
What is the most significant deal/project you’ve been part of? Columbus Park Crossing: A 682,000-square-foot lifestyle center leasing and management assignment. It was an opportunity to provide value from a leasing standpoint and boots on the ground management.
