A popular Birmingham-based restaurant is expanding throughout the metro area and beyond.
The Purple Onion is moving into four former Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits spaces.
New locations include 1545 Montclair Road in Irondale, 2207 Moody Pkwy in Moody, 3318 Rainbow Drive in Rainbow City and 2581 Pelham Parkway in Pelham.
According to Lyndsy Yim, an associate broker with Retail Specialists who represented The Purple Onion, the Pelham location will be a new concept. Also, all of the new locations will have a drive-through, which Yim said was a must for the owners due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yim said The Purple Onion, which currently has restaurants in Hoover, Hueytown and along U.S. 280, is also eyeing more locations in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
Jeff Sommer and Elliott Cook with Retail Strategies represented Purple Onion in the Rainbow City deal. Jon Masters with Moore Realty Co. also represented the company. Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits was represented by Scott Plummer with Retail Specialists.
