Joe Strauss Named to Top 40 Under 40
BIRMINGHAM, AL (December 4, 2024) -Retail Specialists is proud to announce that Joe Strauss, Vice President of Tenant Representation, has been named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2025 40 Under 40 class. With 16 years of commercial real estate experience, Strauss has built an impressive portfolio working with national brands including Dutch Bros, Driven Brands, KFC, and Hwy 55 Burgers across the Southeast, while earning his CCIM designation and recognition in ICSC’s Next Generation Leadership Network.
Beyond his professional achievements, Strauss is making significant impacts in diversity and inclusion within commercial real estate. He spearheads Retail Specialists’ DEI initiatives through his work with the Alabama Center for Real Estate’s CORE program, which he’s helping expand from its University of Alabama to a nationwide platform. His commitment to creating pathways in commercial real estate for underrepresented groups was further demonstrated when he organized the first-ever Commercial Real Estate panel at Miles College, a historically Black college in Fairfield, Alabama.

As Vice President of Tenant Representation, Joe works with numerous national brands helping their expansion across the Southeast including Dutch Bros, Take 5, and Zaxby’s. He started his career working in commercial real estate when he was a college student at the University of Alabama.
