Retail Specialists Represents Target in Multimillion-Dollar Land Deal for New Chelsea Shopping Center
David Plummer, Senior Vice President of Tenant Representation, Secures Site for Target for The Shoppes at Chelsea
David Plummer, Senior Vice President of Tenant Representation, represented Target Corp. in a multimillion-dollar land transaction that marks a major milestone for the fast-growing U.S. 280 corridor in Chelsea, Alabama.
An affiliate of Brentwood, Tennessee-based GBT Realty Corp. acquired the 20.46-acre site of its planned development, The Shoppes at Chelsea, for $4.35 million on April 8. GBT Realty then sold 11.23 acres to Target Corp. for $5.05 million. David Plummer represented Target in that transaction.
The Shoppes at Chelsea will feature 34,300 square feet of retail space, two outparcels, and a 128,667-square-foot Target store. The development sits on a greenfield site at the intersection of Shelby County Road 47 and Chelsea Corners Way, near U.S. Highway 280. Birmingham-based Stewart/Perry Co. is serving as general contractor.
David’s work on this deal brings one of the nation’s most recognized retailers to a rapidly growing market, and signals strong confidence in Chelsea’s long-term retail potential.
